Well, seeing that I have not been very active on the blogosphere in the last couple of months I suppose that I owe an explaination to everyone. It has been a chaotic time. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to take the time to write. Family and work have taken priority as they should in that order. Nevertheless, I hope to be more active in the coming year.
I hope that everyone has a blessed Christmas season and a Happy New Year.
If you are going to be in the Spokane area over the holiday come and see me at the Central Lutheran Church at 4:00 o'clock p.m. on January 4. I will be doing a concert of praise and worship music. We are only asking for donations so please bring a friend or two.

Prayers for Texas
As a Floridian I understand in a profound way the power and destruction caused by hurricanes. It looks like Galveston could use some prayers. Hurricane Ike was very powerful and caused much damage to Texas. We should also remember that Haiti and Cuba also suffered terrible damage and loss of life from this storm. This season appears to be an active one so let's pray for all of us who live in hurricane alley.
Father, we pray for all those who have been impacted by Hurricane Ike. We remember especially those who live in areas where buildings and infrastructure were not built to withstand these kinds of forces. We mourn the loss of life and we pray for a swift recovery of the survivors. May we place our trust in you and know that is by your power that we can live in freedom from fear and anxiety. Help us to realize that you are with us even through the most dangerous of storms.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Psalm 78
A reader named Karen wrote to me:
George,
I was googling Psalm 78 and came upon your website!! You have a great voice and a wonderful talent. Of course Psalm 78 is coming up the weekend of September 13th and the only thing we can find is the chant. Is there any way I can hear what you did with the Psalm? If we need to purchase it that would be fine.
Thank you so much for your help.
Karen,
Thanks for writing. I tried to respond to the email address you left, but it kept bouncing back to me. I just sent off my draft of Psalm 78 to my publisher. If you see this post you can go directly to ILP by clicking the link. If you call the toll free number they should be able to send you a pdf of the score.
I hope this helps you. God bless.
