Milford, CT -
Top Catholic Songs formally announced today the voting results for the Top Ten Songs for Easter from Catholic Artists. Clive is no stranger to awards, having topped more than one Top Catholic Songs list among many other awards. His rousing "Lifted Up" off the Amazed album was voted the #1 song for Easter by the community at TopCatholicSongs.com. Veteran performer Mark Mallett's "Lift Our Hands" from the album Let the Lord Know came in at #2, while Nick Alexander's catchy "R.C.I.A.", an Easter initiation inspired parody on the Village People's "Y.M.C.A." completes the top three.
Margo B. Smith returns to the Top Ten with "Alleluia" at #4, and the band Apostolica lands at #5 with "Somewhere on the Cross." Sean Clive captured a second spot on the Top Ten with "Glory to God" coming in at the #6 song for Easter. Valerie Von Fange placed at #7 with "A Hymn to Him." In between bookings as one of the busiest Catholic performers, John Flynn found time to take #8 with his setting of the Psalm for Easter Sunday, "Give Thanks to the Lord." Mel Kennedy's cover of the classic "How Beautiful" earns #9 and Lynn Geyer adds another Top Ten mention to her collection with "Music of the Light" (from the album of the same name) completing the list at #10.
The purpose of this Top Ten list was to honor Catholic artists for their musical and technical achievements in providing Catholics with quality recorded music which is entertaining, edifying, and educational.
